FAQ's
Yes, any accessory you already had installed will still function as long as you do not disconnect anything. Please try installing the ismartgate at least one meter away from the remote receiver (usually inside the door motor) to prevent any interference.
The ismartgate device connects directly (via two wires) to your opener, see here for more information, and the sensor ( required for any 3rd party app to function) needs to be placed on your garage / gate door, see more information about the placement of the sensors here . Once that is done, you can configure it all from the ismartgate Access app to use it locally or remotely from anywhere. You can also allow access to other users, and they will also need the ismartgate Access app.
Additionally you can have an ismartgate camera that records* the open/close events to the ismartgate app (*this requires a video plugin )
The ismartgate requires a power source to function, it is not enough to connect the device to your opener to open and close the door. You can connect the device directly to a regular AC Socket with the power adapter provided. But in case you want to use a battery or connect to a Gate opener that has power output connections, you would need a converter, further information can be found here .
Yes. The ismartgate requires an internet connection to be able to use all the features.
Nevertheless, you can configure it to be accessible without internet, using the Access Point mode . This option would be selected on the initial set up and can not switch from Wi-Fi to access point mode automatically. When the device is in access point mode the remote access, users and 3rd party apps can NOT be used.
No, the ismartgate can use all Smart Home connections, users and remote access without any fee or additional hardware.
However , if you need to use more than 10 users you would need a user plugin. You can either have a plugin for 100 users, or unlimited users. Pricing information can be found here , these plugins are valid for 1 year.
Furthermore , if you want to see your camera from the ismartgate access app and store the open/close events (either with an ismartgate camera or another compatible camera) you would need the video plugin. This plugin is valid for 3 years and costs 29,95 USD, it can be purchased here .
Unlike other openers, the ismartgate does NOT send any personal information to our servers. The information is ONLY stored in your ismartgate device's internal memory. Therefore, even if our servers got compromised, your data would still be secure as it is stored locally, and NOT in the cloud.
Cheaper brands may not invest in IoT or application security, leaving security holes in their smart garage openers.
